Driving Assessment

If you’re feeling unsure or anxious about your driving and want a professional driving assessment to build confidence or correct habits, you can take a driving assessment lesson with an MTO-approved driving school. These lessons are great for:

  • Drivers with doubts or anxiety

  • New G1 or G2 drivers who want extra practice

  • Experienced drivers returning to driving after a break

What Is an MTO-Approved Driving Assessment?

An MTO-approved driving lesson or assessment is a one-on-one session with a certified driving instructor from a ministry-licensed school. While not an official “test,” it’s a professional evaluation of your driving skills in real traffic conditions.

🚦What’s Included in the Assessment?

  • Review of basic driving skills (steering, braking, turns, parking)

  • Evaluation of defensive driving, lane changes, merging, etc.

  • Personalized feedback and suggestions for improvement

  • Help identifying bad habits or areas that need practice

  • Optional recommendation for further lessons if needed

Some schools also simulate road test conditions to prepare you for success.

🧠 Tip for Nervous Drivers

If you’re feeling unsure behind the wheel, let the school know upfront. Many instructors specialize in helping anxious or self-doubting drivers. They’re trained to be calm, supportive, and non-judgmental.
